It was sort of a gray day at the Jersey Shore today...fog, snow and a chill in the air! Nonetheless, fresh snow on the pines is beautiful...
This is a photo from the Park just up the street from my house in the Ocean Acres section of Manahawkin, NJ. Everything looks great with a little snow!
I'm sure the kids weren't happy the snow came today, when they already had a holiday! (Snow days are still my favorite!) The kids are behind me sledding and sliding down the hill (actually it's a small slope, but that's the Jersey Shore)!

After all of the mountain of this stuff that I've had to shovel so far this winter - I can't share our enthusiasm! =-)
Wow....That is a beautiful picture and I do love the snow. But I sure am glad I live in a warm state!!!!
Lots of snow and it is beautiful -- I must admit however, that I am ready for spring!
Hi Laura, That's a great picture. I love the snow on the pines - very peaceful.
Ya see Laura that's what I like about being from NY but living in Florida and being a part of Active Rain. I see the beautiful pictures, remember the feeling, don't like the cold, and don't shovel any more snow!!! So Awesome!
Just for a chuckle...We had some cold days recently (for Florida that is) and someone was complaining about it, my response was "Hey it's still better than The Hudson River!"
What a beautiful picture. There is a great serenity about fresh snow.
Laura, it does make a great picture, just as long as I don't have to shovel it!
Great photo, Laura!
I love the look of freshly fallen snow that clings to the trees!
Laura - I sure miss the snow down here in Florida. I plan on bringing my family up north to see snow as soon as my son gets a little older.
A winter Wonderland for sure....Hope you have plenty of hot chocolate to warm you up on these chilly winter days!
Hi Laura-That is a beautiful pic. I love it. Just glad I don't have to live in it anymore.
Laura, that's just plain cruel. I was all nice and warm. Now I'm all cold and chilly. I think I'll have to call an end to my commenting this morning and go to the hot tub to warm up. LOL
Hi Laura:
The snow DID look nice yesterday. I was admiring the trees as I drove around.
I love the jersey shore when it snows. It is such a beautiful landscape.
Fresh snow always makes for a beautiful picture and you've captured it perfectly.
We're experiencing our first snow of the year today and last night before the first flake even fell, they closed the schools!
2-4" is predicted and the town is shut down!
Morning Laura,
Oh my! I always enjoyed the first snow of winter. This great shot reminds me of the winter days back home.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks all for stopping by...we didn't get anymore snow, and what we had yesterday is a little crusty today!
It was great snow, not enough for shoveling, but just enough to make it pretty!
Great pic! Snow does make everything look beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Love it! Love it! Love it! I miss sledding and skating and making snowmen and snow angels...and all that fun, snow day, stuff :) We actually had FLURRIES all day yesterday!! People here were saying 'it's snowing!'....and I was like - nah...that's just flurries, lol.
Snow days are great, but not on an actual holiday. That's just wrong! haha. Gorgeous picture, btw!
Tony, Kara & Jesse...My view, we had the snow, it was beautiful...now when do the beach badges go on sale? LOL The snow blower's good karma is holding out, still haven't had to use it yet. And you are sooo wrong Jesse, to a kid in NJ it's an actual holiday!! ;}
Laura, What a beautiful photo! I always enjoy looking at snow pictures (rather enviously I might add) because it's such a rare sight here in Georgia. I don't think I would enjoy a winter full of snow, but it would be nice to have it snow every now and then here. Thank you for sharing!
Have a great day,
Anne Rains
Laura, great picture. We so seldom see any snow that it tends to make one awestruck here.
