Fall has arrived at the Jersey Shore! The fall/winter clothes are out of storage and the comforters on the beds.
Being close to the Ocean, we enjoy a few extra weeks of warmth here at the Jersey Shore. But temperatures are cooling.
Summer is my favorite season, though the crowds at the Jersey Shore can be trying at times.
What I’ll miss most…
· The first Jersey corn at the farm stand
· The first Jersey tomatoes at the farm stand
· The warm sun that you can feel in your bones
· Cook outs and long days
· Fresh Italian Ice
The fresh vegetables at the farm stand have now been replaced by pumpkins and gourds.
The warm sun is now tempered by a chilly breeze.
The grills’ in the shed, and the plants from the deck have their indoor windows.
It will soon be dark at 5pm and the Italian Ice stand closed a few weeks back.
Summer is over, and I haven’t even had my fill of Jersey corn and tomatoes! So can anyone tell me...

Hey Laura ... just stopping by to see what you are up to. I will miss the fruit, veggies and that warming sun too. But I envy you those fresh Italian ices. Have not found anything to match the City or Jersey up here!
I"ll miss the laughter of the children as the wave crashes against them on a hot summer day.
Marie I actually have the recipe of this old italian nona from Trenton for the best pineapple ice..I'll try it and if it works..I'll send it along...
Nancy That's what I love about the ocean, it makes everyone a kid..thanks for coming by...
I
lthe Jersey shore!
I'll miss all the Zonies who have had to back to Phoenix. LOL, and not really. Even though Phoenix is the sixth largest city, and San Diego eighth (I think), during tourist season, I'm sure the population of Phoenix drops by about 500,000 people and San Diego's increases by an equal amount. Finally, our beaches, freeways, and tourist traps are ours again! Yahooooooooooo!
Good morning Laura,
What I miss, to list a few; My New York gardens
The beautiful nearby sandy Canadian beaches
The family and friends that remain behind
The beautiful colors of Fall
My summer cloths, I have already prepared my winter wardrobe, I have all my corduroy shorts and heave Tee shirts unpacked.
Now back to what you will miss,
Do you realize that of the ten (10) things you will miss eight (8) of them have to do with FOOD! That in itself tells a story. LOL
