We Might Argue About Football Giants or Eagles, But We All Agree on Jersey Fresh!

The 'Jersey Fresh' brand has been around for 30 years, it's the longest state agricultural brand in the nation!   Few organizations (sports teams included) can match that branding record or the diverse skills of the state's 10,300 registered farmers.  New Jersey farmers demonstrate annually that they can grow their crops despite adverse conditions.

Jersey Fresh at the Jersey ShoreAlthough the number of acres farmed in New Jersey has decreased, overall production per acre is at record levels.  And we still have many organic farms in the Garden State!

New Jersey produces the fourth-highest quantity of blueberries in the United States, and in 2011 it produced more of the fruit than ever before, with 62 million pounds, according to the state Department of Agriculture.

Farmers around the state are now harvesting at least 18 different crops from arugula and turnips.  Our Jersey Fresh blueberries this year are great. My Favorites...Jersey Tomatoes and Sweet Jersey Corn....coming soon to a Farmers Market in your neighborhood!

Even the big supermarkets have responded to customer calls for Jersey Fresh.  In Manahawkin, you'll find Shop-Rite advertizies Jersey Fresh fruits and vegetables.

Jersey Fresh TomatoesI frequent the Farmers Markets all the time.  Until my tomatoes come in, I'll gladly purchase their bothers and sisters from south Jersey!  There is nothing like a Jersey grown tomato!  Find all farm market locations in Ocean County at the Jersey Shore for Jersey Fresh products here!

In addition to the new advertising campaign, the state also reworked its Jersey Fresh website, www.JerseyFresh.nj.gov, featuring charts showing what products are available at this time.

If your are visiting the Jersey Shore, visit a Farm Market and taste our treats.

Laura, I love blueberries and who would have thought New Jersey was the fourth largest producer of the little blue gems!
