Observe & Know...the Secret of Plants! (Be Very Silent This Saturday)

Sure, we've had rain and we've flooded at times this spring.  Nothing that could compare with what they've had  to deal with in the Midwest.

But as I remember the importance of Memorial Day, I also celebrate the beginning of a new year for tourism business at the Jersey Shore.  I wish all well.

Reboot...everything is in summertime mode!

Take a look, this happened almost overnight...they've shed spring flowers, and they're getting the summer green on:  It's a new day...the rhododendrons told me, spring is done summer's here!

Spring Past 2011
Plants might not be in the same time zone...but look, listen and know their secrets!  Even they know summer is here!
It's the passing...spring to summer of the Jersey Shore

Laura, the flowers are beautiful!  I have always thought that if you watch the plant life (in my case where I live aspen trees) bloom you will know when summer is upon you.  We have been cold here and I haven't seen an aspen with a single leaf yet, hopefully after this weekend there will be some leaves.  I hope you and Jersey have a wonderful summer!  --Krystal

I really look forward to the rhododendron's blossoms.  And, poof, they are gone.  The cherry tree is blazing now, but that will soon be gone, too.

Krystal-I live in the Pinelands, they're somewhat green all year...but you get to notice the signals if you pay attentions!  Wishing you spring soon!

Ron-I' m happy you're enjoying the NOW!

Those are beautiful blossoms, sad to see some of them on the ground.  Glad summer is on it's way!

Laura - I really need to put on my glasses before trying to read blogs.  I was certain the subject line said, "The Secret of PLANETS."  I was thinking the content would be about something otherworldly.

Seriously however, we are overcast once again here in Sacramento.  It's hard to believe that Summer is near, when it feels like February outside:-)

Our plants here don't know what month it is! This is the first year in my life that I can remember not having lilacs to cut and take to the cemetery on Memorial Day.

So right, on to the next stage, the pretty blue iris are getting ready to make themselves known, a sure sign summer is here.

William-I sometimes have trouble finding it!

Chris-In 2 months, I probably be complaining about the heat!

Erika-It truly is my favorite season!

Myrl-I'll take even summer cool to a NJ February!

Arleen and Tracey-You two, enjoy the Holiday!

Marte-I love lilacs, we have some very old ones when I was growing up...I've tried them a couple of times since and haven't had much luck.  Any pointers?

Rene-Always welcome summer, traffic, rude out-of-towners and all!  Bring it!
