It's Amazing What Happens If You Just Wait!

I wasn't happy when the rains came last week...the same time my rhododendrons were blooming.  They're my favorite spring blossom.  While the rains brought an early rhododendron snow shower in my plant bed, there were some that waited for me!

While I was concerned with the flowering bushes, I've already got blooms on the Jersey Tomatoes...Now all I need the insects to get them doing their thing!
I'm waiting! Jersey Tomatoes

The other day I saw two big bees pollinating the shrub outside my window. I swear they were the size of humming birds.

The rains have up the antes for all....more pollen, more insects, more lizards, more birds etc....the food chain is thriving and as Donna points out, some of them are stuffing themselves. How the heck can a bee that size still fly is puzzling....We are enjoying it all....

Laura....we just had 6+ inches of rain in  2 days.  I hope the flowers and the veggies take advantage of it.

Rhododendrons are among my favorite spring flowers too.  My mom and dad planted a number of especially gorgeous ones at my childhood home.  Interestingly, I haven't planted any at my own home, but do have a collection of mature Azaelias.
