Working on Green-Wordless Wendesday

Southern Ocean County, NJ is where the Jersey Shore meets the Pinelands.  New Jersey's Pine Barrens are a treasure, and as close as the Barnegat Bay and the sands of Long Beach Island.  This time of year, before the snow has melted and the spring flowers make their appearance the Pinelands are quiet...all you can hear is the scrub pines working on green!

Laura - I just realized you are from Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey.  My family tree begins with a marriage license in June 1749 between Rebecca Stillwell and Thomas Heady.  They were married in Egg Harbor, New Jersey.

Laura - Beautiful photo of NJ  - now people will know why it's called the Garden State and stop judging it based on Newark Airport!

Laura- This is a beautiful picture, thanks for sharing. I have never been to NJ so haven't been to Newark Airport either so this is the only judgment I have for NJ.

Hi Laura, I like that "all you can hear is the scrub pines working on green"....I can picture it....one of my favorite things is being in the woods and smelling the sun on the pines....really peaceful and good!

So many people think NJ is oil refineries and highways...we're much more!

Hey Myrl that's interesting.  I think that even pre dates East and West Jersey!
