Surf Fishing on Long Beach Island - There's Still Money to be Made!

One week remains in the Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Classic, the eight week surf fishing tournament for striped bass and bluefish on Long Beach Island NJ.  The front runner is still Ray Sullivan, with his 56.44 pound striper catch on October 21st.

The 56th Annual Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Classic began October 9th and runs through December 5th.  Weigh in must occur within 24 hours of the catch, and on December 5th, before 6pm.

It might be colder on the beach today than it was in October, but they're out there trying to beat that 56 pound striped bass catch.

Cash awards have already been won by anglers in the daily and weekly segments of the competition, but the grand prize will have to wait until December 5th.

Laura, What a great excuse to get out on the water, I sure this competition was fiercely contested...and fun.

Laura, looking at the person on the beach all bundled up I think that Ice Fishing may actually be warmer snug in a shelter out of the elements.

Laura

Fisherman have a passion for their fishing and a little cool weather won't stop them.

Good luck and success.

Sally & David - I'll split it with you if you'll come fishing!!!

Rene - It is a bit chilly out there, but it wasn't too windy this weekend.

Roy - But just as aggravating at times!  LOL

Steve - It is a bit chilly!

Bob - I always wanted to try ice fishing in a little cabin on the ice!

William - We're waiting for you to come get that 60 lb striper we all know is out there!

Lou - That's the truth, like the mail...through rain, sleet, snow and hail!

I loved surf fishing at South Padre Island when I lived in South Texas.  Now it's Kentucky Lake, river, and pond fishing.

I'll get up at 4:00 AM to go fishing.  But those people that got up at 4:00 AM (or earlier) to go shopping on Black Friday are just nuts.
