With iPhones taking over, Dan LaPlaca of Long Beach Island and New York City rolled out a new iPhone app in July!  

The LBI 411 application features must know info about LBI...things like restaurants, family activities, the best places to fish, what bands are playing and weekly rentals.

The 99 cent LBI411 application is available for iPhones and iPod Touch, and the developer expects to expand the app to Blackberry and Android.  

So if you want the 411 about Long Beach Island, there's a place to go...or follow LBI 411 on Twitter @LBI411.

Dear Laura:

How did he do that? Can he send me info so I can do one for the Beautiful Florida Keys? We used to live on LBI 25 years ago-101 Essex St.

Happy times. There were 11 children in my sons 2 grade class and 67 students in the school from pre K to 6th grade.

I understand things there have changed a lot, no more Hands! Does Beals still have a liquor store?

Laura - that's pretty cool.... Now if I only had an Iphone....lol BB Bold for the infrared Supra Box app... Had to get me one of those BB's instead of the Iphone.... Oh well maybe next year... but a very cool idea for sure...

Long Beach Island is on my bucket list. We have lots of people in Naples from the Jersey Shore every winter and it keeps growing.  Hope the storm does not affect you this week.
