If You're Coming Down the Shore...Live Jersey Shore Traffic Views!

If you’re headed to the Jersey Shore this weekend via the Garden State Parkway expect some delays from the Toms River exits (82) through the Manahawkin/Long Beach Island exit (63) ending just before the Little Egg Harbor/Tuckerton exit.

.Jersey Shore.

Though crews won’t be working over the holiday weekend, the Parkway’s widening has caused lane shifts which always cause problems, and those not familiar with the work seem inclined to slow down and check it out!

Hopefully, the 2011 summer season won’t be plagued with these problems, at least not in the same areas.  Widening the Parkway between Exits 82 and 63 should be completed, but will start up further south.

If you’d like to check out the traffic before you leave north Jersey for the Jersey Shore, the NJ Turnpike Authority has made available to the public more vantage points, 79 live camera shots from the Turnpike and 70 live camera shots on the Parkway!

If heading down the the shore this summer also remember that the speed limit is 55 between mile markers 80 to 100.  This is enforced because of all the accidents that have occurred.

Great point...and the speed limit through construction areas is 45, even if there are no workers present!  Thanks for mentioning the speed limit!

Dear Laura,

Traffic congestion and road construction are just two by-products of growth. It is something I have lived with in every city I have ever lived in. It is far better than no new roads or no wider roads. Be happy your city is growing instead of leaving you with tiny roads that won't move the people that live there. Great post on the local progress!
