Ocean County residents are you wondering what to do about clean-up, repair and replacement after the March, 2010 non-stop down pour.
Help is available! Ocean County has been added to the list for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Authority) and the NJ Office of Emergency Management assitance.
The office opens tomorrow in Brick…the disaster recovery center for Ocean County opens tomorrow (May 14th). The location is the Brick Township Civic Center, located at 270 Chambersbridge Road in Brick. It’s in Suite 11.
If you have property damage from flooding, or damage to personal property you are encouraged to apply.
To make things easier please register with FEMA before visiting the Center. To do that call 800-621-FEMA.

Laura...It seams that this year disasters are everywhere. I wonder how long the help can continue.
Thanks for posting this Laura. If you dont mind, I am going to post those details on the I LOVE OCEAN COUNTY facebook page. Meanwhile, our beach survived the storms. We built up our dunes over the past few years. This Saturday is beach cleanup day.
So if it's on the FEMA maps, does it make it an official flood zone, with more folks needing flood insurance?
And I have a question, do houses neard the ocean and bay and lagoons, get flood insurance or hurricane insurance, or both?
Hi Laura, thank you as always for posting local, insightful and helpful information.
I am sure the people in your area will find this very valuable information and assist them in getting the help they need in a timely manner. Water can be such a problem....and the aftermath of mold....ewww....good to talk with you yesterday...I will be dreaming about the slumber party !
Just a note, Ocean County is eligible for FEMA assistance because of a damage tallies by local and state officials due, not to a hurricane, but substantial rain in early March.
Sally, I'm dreaming chocolate!!!
Let's hope FEMA is responding in a very timely manner. My prayer goes to all the folks in New Jersey.
Laura-looks like spammers above me here...I have just reported the two comments.

I'm back to edit my comment. That spammer was on a lot of your blog posts and apparently after I reported it they have all been removed.
